Degree or No Degree?

May 4, 2007, 4:14 pm

The Marilee Jones story just got weirder. Today The New York Times reports that Jones, the former MIT admissions dean who resigned last week after confessing that she had lied about her academic background, does, in fact, have a degree, just not from the universities listed on her résumé.

It turns out she got a B.A. in biology from the College of Saint Rose, a private college in Albany, N.Y., in 1973. But MIT officials said it was neither listed on the résumé she submitted when she first applied for a job as an administrative assistant nearly three decades ago nor on subsequent versions of her résumé.
