Campaigning for an Academic Job

A recent post at Incoherently Scattered Ponderings describes how searching for an academic job is much like running for president of the United States:

No matter how much work you have done, it all comes down to “message delivery” – in a form of speeches or seminars.

You need to know who your audience are and tailor the message accordingly.
