Central Michigan University is conserving its cash by conducting its search for a new dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts without the help of a consultant, an article in Central Michigan Life reports:
Roger Rehm, vice president of information technology and the CCFA dean search committee chairman, said the entire two-day search process took place without contracting a search firm, which has saved Central Michigan University a bundle of money.
Instead of dropping the usual $40,000 to $60,000 on a consultant, the university has so far spent just a few thousand dollars on job advertisements and “airport interviews,” Rehm told CM-Life. The finalists will be flown in later this month, the newspaper reports.
