Turkey Investigates Cheating on Teacher Test

A cheating scandal is roiling Turkey’s education system. More than 3,000 recent university graduates are under scrutiny involving a test that is required for aspiring public-school teachers, reports The National newspaper. Government authorities have said that officials of the agency conducting the exam, together with employees of the company that produces the exam, may have sold the questions for as much as $10,000. This month a Turkish court charged four people with “membership in a criminal organization” as part of the investigation. They face up to three years in prison.
