The Educational Testing Service announced Thursday that it is resuming registration in Iran for the Test of English as a Foreign Language and the Graduate Record Examination. Registration for the tests was suspended this month as a consequence of more-stringent United Nations sanctions on financial transactions with Iran. Students can now register for the tests through an Iranian organization, the National Organization of Educational Testing, “or with credit/debit cards issued by banks that are not prohibited under U.N. or U.S. sanctions,” the ETS announcement says. ETS says it has been given permission from the U.S. Treasury Department to conduct its testing business in Iran.
