South Korea’s Government Agrees to Plan to Lower College Costs

Following student protests over rising tuition fees, the government of South Korea has agreed to set aside $7.7-billion over three years to lower college costs, reports The Korea Times. Some of the money will be used to help colleges cut tuition prices; some will be used to increase scholarships. Most higher education in South Korea is private, relying heavily on tuition fees for revenue.
