Kenya is ordering 592 technical and vocational colleges to register with the government and meet national standards or close, reports Capital News in Nairobi. On Wednesday, William Ruto, Kenya’s higher-education minister, gave the institutes 21 days to comply. The order was meant to weed out bogus colleges, which he said are being set up by unscrupulous businessmen as more Kenyans seek degrees.
