Officials of the Indian Institutes of Technology are considering plans to set up a branch campus in Singapore, reports The Times of India. It would be the first foreign campus established by the system of elite engineering schools. Sinagpore’s government has extended a “longstanding invitation” to the institutes to come to the country, the newspaper says. The new campus, named the International Institute of Technology, would open in five years. It would teach both humanities and science, with a focus on research in health, technology, communications, and education.
