A decline in foreign students coming to Australia has hurt the country’s economy, costing it an estimated $365-million (U.S.), reports The Australian newspaper. According to Universities Australia, a leading higher-education association, violent attacks on Indian students, a government crackdown on vocational schools, and the rising value of the Australian dollar have led to a drop in visiting students. It estimates that student visas have declined by as much as 20 percent.
