For the sixth straight year, McGill University has topped Maclean’s magazine’s annual university rankings in the “medical-doctoral” category, which covers institutions that offer a broad range of Ph.D. degrees and operate a medical school. Simon Fraser University took the top spot in the “comprehensive” category, which rates universities with undergraduate and graduate programs as well as strong research activities. Mount Allison maintained its first-place position in the category for institutions that primarily focus on undergraduate education. In that area, the magazine also mentions Quebec’s Bishop’s University as making huge strides, jumping from 17th two years ago to eighth this year.
