The New Brunswick government has revoked the license of Lansbridge University, a for-profit institution, in Fredericton, for failing to meet educational standards. Lansbridge, which offered business degrees online, disputes the decision, but the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission says it conducted two reviews of the university and gave the institution “ample time” to correct the issues, reports The Daily Gleaner newspaper. The newspaper also said one of Lansbridge’s owners was connected with two other for-profit colleges that were closed down in 2007 by the British Columbia government.
