South Dakota State University is the latest in a string of institutions to receive a donation from the corporate sector to jump start health and research facilities.
Officials announced a partnership between the university and Avera Health. The health system will give the university $15-million over the next 10 years for a new $48-million building. The facility will include the College of Pharmacy and the department of chemistry and biochemistry, as well as laboratories and classrooms.
“We will continue to have needs to partner with industry and persons who have interest with philanthropy so we can get facilities in place,” Tad Perry, the executive director of the university’s Board of Regents told the Argus Leader. — Erin Strout
