Shop Talk: New Buildings Open, and Others to Come

Arizona State University and Grist.org have teamed up to release a biweekly e-mailing to the 60,000 students on the campus, with news, commentary, and advice about sustainability issues.

Xavier University, in Cincinnati, is building a an academic quadrangle that will include a learning commons and a new home for the business school.

The University of Indianapolis is has broken ground on a $9-million residence hall.

Santa Clara University opened a 86,000 square-foot, $49-million business school this month. The building features classrooms and executive-style conference rooms, along with teleconferencing and videoconferencing facilities.

Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science is opening an urgent-care clinic to serve south Los Angeles. Construction of a new research-and-nursing building is also under way.

Saint Joseph College, in West Hartford, Conn., has opened two residence halls on the western side of the campus.
