With help from the architecture firm Performa and from Michaels Engineering, Wilson College renovated an existing 51,500-square-foot structure and added 25,000 square feet of new space. The aim of the $25-million project, called the Complex for Science, Mathematics, and Technology, was to preserve the Victorian Gothic character of the campus while creating a modern science facility that meets LEED sustainability standards. The two-story addition wraps around a renovated auditorium, creating a building that houses instructional spaces, a greenhouse, a large central atrium, and a natural-history museum.
