This building greatly expands the university’s School of Nursing, providing more space for research, teaching, events, and faculty offices, as well as a student commons. The building takes advantage of a steeply sloping site with entries on two levels leading to a cascading two-story lobby. Sustainable design features include abundant natural light and a partial green roof, operable windows, and sun shades. The building features a number of informal gathering spaces intended to encourage collaborative learning.
