Campus Architecture Database: Claremont Hall

January 21, 2010, 11:00 am

Claremont Hall

Claremont McKenna College, Claremont, Calif.

Building Type: Residential

Construction Type: New

Cost: $14.1-million

Square Footage: 42,000

Architect: CO Architects

Contractor: Bernards

Opened: 2008

This new residence hall faces a campus quadrangle, onto which the new building’s three semi-enclosed courtyards open. This design is intended to blur the line between interior and exterior and to capitalize on one of the region’s prime attributes — an outdoor climate that can be enjoyable in all four seasons.

Does your institution have a new building or a recently completed renovation? Make sure it gets included in our campus-architecture database and our forthcoming Architecture issue.
