Ashes to Ashes: a Conundrum for Colleges

What’s your policy on ashes? Tom Bartlett reports in an article in this week’s Chronicle that as the popularity of cremation increases, more and more people are asking to scatter the ashes of loved ones at the colleges they attended. Often campus officials say no, but in practice it’s hard to prevent people from quietly dispersing the remains nonetheless. What’s your institution’s approach?
