An 1875 Farmhouse Becomes Home to Middlebury’s Environmental Center

Environmental studies at Middlebury College has a new home: an old farmhouse with a green renovation.

The Hillcrest Environmental Center opened last week after renovators added new windows, tight insulation, waterless urinals, trim and furniture from local wood, recycled carpet, and other green amenities to the house, which was built in 1875.
