A coalition of academics, architects, and engineers supporting the formation of a National Academy of Environmental Design have sponsored a series of symposia recently. In January, a symposium was held at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, covering research in sustainable materials. The presentations and discussion were recorded and are available online. A symposium on the Sustainable Sites Initiative, the program to certify green landscapes, is being held today and tomorrow at the University of Texas at Austin. And architects and sustainability advocates at the University of Florida will hold a symposium on Monday and Tuesday on water use. Look for summaries and other materials from the symposia on the academy’s site.
