Downturn? Not in Campus ConstructionOnly a handful of colleges and universities have postponed construction projects because of the current economic downturn. But public institutions in a number of states are keeping a close eye on tax-revenue projections and legislative actions, and some private institutions have projects on hold while fund raising continues. Many campus construction projects, however, are moving forward. And some colleges are trying to speed up projects to limit the damage done by rising construction costs, which continue to worry planners and architects. A Chronicle article posted this morning reviews the current construction outlook for higher education. What’s going on at your institution? Post a comment, or send us an e-mail message.
