Chicago Landmark to Become a Home for Students
Chicago Business reports that students from Roosevelt University, Robert Morris College, and other downtown Chicago institutions will take up residence in the Pittsfield Building, a landmark. The Alter Group, a developer, has acquired eight floors in the skyscraper for $23-million and plans to create a 450-bed dormitory. The Pittsfield Building, completed in 1927, was designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White, a Chicago firm, and features Art Deco and Gothic styles. It was built for the heirs of the department-store magnate Marshall Field. (Photo by Frank Hashimoto) Scott Carlson | Monday January 28, 2008 | Permalink | Contact usComments
