Wanted: Guest Writers for Buildings & GroundsWith all the construction and renovation happening on campuses today, it’s a full-time job just blogging all of the news items on the wire about campus buildings, landscape, sustainability, and energy. There is almost no time for reflection about the meaning of campus grounds and buildings, the challenges and rewards of sustainability, and the preparation for an energy-scarce future. That’s why we’re asking for your input. Starting soon, The Chronicle’s Buildings & Grounds blog will feature monthly guest writers who will post thoughts about facilities, sustainability, design and planning for all to read. Are colleges building too much, or not enough? Is there a future for biodiesel or solar power on college campuses? What’s your favorite campus building (aside from ones you designed or built)? The topics can be anything relevant that you can dream up — and that you can cover in 500 words or less. We plan to feature one guest blogger per month, and ask that blogger to post at least one item a week. If you have ideas, if you can write, and if you are an expert in design, sustainability, or facilities, send us an e-mail for more details.
