YouTube and Google Earth, in a Nutshell

The Kept-Up Academic Librarian notes that Educause has released two more installations of its “Seven Things You Should Know About…” series, which provides professors with crash courses in hot technologies.

The latest additions to the series may be of particular interest: They cover YouTube and Google Earth, a pair of tools that many lecturers have no doubt toyed with outside the classroom. Educause’s dispatch on Google Earth points out that the popular program has been used in the classroom not just by professors of geology and earth science, but also by liberal-arts lecturers who want students to virtually tour areas of historical and literary importance. —Brock Read
