What One University Got for $5-Million in Stimulus Funds: 137 Jobs

The University of Wisconsin calculates that the $5.2-million in federal stimulus money it has spent so far allowed the system to create or save 137 jobs, the Associated Press reported. The figures are from an audit the university released today. The audit did not say how many of those jobs were new, but university officials said many of them were for research faculty members, research assistants, graduate assistants, and laboratory assistants.
