WE NEED TO DELETE THIS ONE
Researchers at Pennsylvania State University say the fight against fast-moving computer worms has a new weapon. They have developed a system that can "block and contain" worms before they infect other computers, according to the university's Daily Collegian Online.
The system targets worms that spread arbitrarily from computer to computer. A so-called diverse worm thwarts or delays attempts to identify its source and stop it, a researcher said. The researchers have a beta version of the system, formally named Proactive Worm Containment, and they are working on a prototype. The technique their system uses, they said, will eventually be available on all computer operating systems. --Sierra Millman
