This Bud's Not for Us, Some Universities Say

For college sports fans, a can of Bud Light in their favorite team's colors might be an easy sell, but some university administrators are not pleased with the new marketing campaign by Anheuser-Busch, The Wall Street Journal reports. Many administrators worry that "fan can" beer sales near campuses will contribute to underage and binge drinking, and could give the impression that the institutions endorse the brew. Some universities have also threatened legal action over trademark infringement. Anheuser-Busch says it will drop the campaign near any college that makes a formal complaint.

University administrators are shocked that beer companies are marketing their product to college students. I am sure that when the color of beer cans returns to some neutral beige that binge drinking and underage drinking will plummet and university administrators will rest easy at the bold stand they have taken against school colored beer cans. What hypocrisy!
