The Merits of Obeying Copyright
Boy Scouts typically earn merit badges for making a fire or tying knots. But in Hong Kong, they can now get credit for adopting the movie industry’s take on copyright law.
The Motion Picture Association and the Hong Kong Scout Association announced this week that they will create an intellectual-property badge for tech-savvy scouts. But skeptics, including Stephen Downes of OLDaily, are already wondering whether the program will amount to anything more than an opportunity for movie studios to proselytize on copyright.
