South Korean Cloning Scientist Is Convicted

Woo Suk Hwang, the South Korean scientist hailed as a national hero after he reported creating stem-cell lines from cloned human embryos, was given a suspended prison sentence of two years on Monday after being convicted on embezzlement and bioethical charges but acquitted of fraud.
