Song Swapping Overseas
Just as it does in the United States, the battle over music piracy continues to rage in Europe. A new report issued by the British Phonographic Industry once again makes the case that illegal file sharing is crippling the music industry: British record companies, the report argues, have lost just shy of $2-billion to pirates over the past three years. In the wake of that report, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry -- the European equivalent of the Recording Industry Association of America -- has filed suit against some 2,000 computer users suspected of swapping music illegally online. (DailyTech)
