Office space is a perennial hot topic in higher education. Who’s got a new building? Who’s sharing offices? Who doesn’t have an office at all? Who uses their car as their office? The coffee shop? &c. And there’s no better way to start a fight in a department than to open up a large-ish office and ask who should have it.
To help scratch that itch–and also to document the myriad spaces in which faculty members work in higher education–Prof. Hacker invites photos of your workspace. Preferably annotated, like my desk, or like Jeremy Boggs’s. There are two fun ways to play:
- If you’re on Flickr–and we’ll have a post soon about why you might want to be–you can add your photo to the Prof. Hacker Flickr group.
- If you’re not on Flickr, just e-mail me the pic and a short description.
Once a week, we’ll post pics here on the blog. And maybe, just maybe, there’ll be a monthly contest. So. What does your workspace look like?

You would post this right after I had to clean up my office and bring everything home. Curses!

My office is currently a mess. My initial response to Jason's invitation was Well, I'll wait until I have it straightened up before I share anything. However, I might just go ahead and document the chaos now, and then document the results of my (fingers crossed!) weekend makeover.
Stay tuned...!
