Professors to Dissect U.S. Interrogation Methods
In honor of Constitution Day, on September 17, the law school at Seton Hall University will Webcast a discussion about interrogation and intelligence gathering. The live broadcast will be made available to hundreds of colleges. Second Life users also will be able to follow the proceedings on a virtual Guantanamo Bay that was established by the university for the discussion of legal, political, and international issues.
Among the speakers on Constitution Day will be Charles Swift, a law professor at Emory University and former naval officer, who defended Salim Ahmed Hamdan, a former driver for Osama bin Laden, in a case challenging the legality of the military commissions established to try detainees at Guantánamo Bay. The Supreme Court ruled in Mr. Hamdan’s favor.—-Andrea L. Foster
