Pacific University, in Oregon, has picked Lesley M. Hallick, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Oregon Health & Science University, as its next president, the Associated Press reports.
Arnold Speert, president of William Paterson University of New Jersey, is retiring after nearly a quarter-century in the job. He will remain in the post until a successor is hired. See a university news release for details.
The longtime president of Furman University, David Shi, has announced that he will retire on June 30, 2010, after 15 years as its chief, The Greenville News reports.
