Presidential Contenders Will Appear on MySpace
MySpace has already made clear that it hopes the 2008 elections will enhance its political profile, and the social network took another step toward achieving that goal today. Site officials have announced that MySpace will play host to a series of "town-hall meetings" with presidential candidates on college campuses across the country, according to CNET News.
The meetings, which are set to run from September through December, will each highlight one candidate. (The front-runners from each party have already agreed to participate.) MySpace will show the events online and let viewers submit questions through the social network's instant-messaging service. --Brock Read
