Popular YouTube Video: Real?
So a bunch of us in the office today were watching this classic YouTube video that appears to be a college professor smashing a student’s cellphone. It’s one of the most popular videos ever on YouTube, even ranking No. 1 all-time in the science and technology channel. But several of us think this whole thing is staged. Maybe even as a class project on viral video or something. Take a look at the video and ask yourself this question: Why does the camera pan immediately to find the ringing phone and then stay on that person until the professor walks into the frame? Is that what you would do if you were recording this class? So if anyone knows where this was recorded or has any insight into its legitimacy or fakery, we’d love to hear from you.—Scott Smallwood
