Oracle Foresees a PeopleSoft Future

A year after the Oracle Corporation finally prevailed after an 18-month battle to take over PeopleSoft Inc. (The Chronicle, January 7, 2005), nearly all of PeopleSoft’s customers, including many academic institutions, have renewed their annual contracts with the company, a dominant supplier of administrative software. That’s according to CIO Today, which also reports that Oracle has adopted some of PeopleSoft’s ways, even as it vies to hang onto its customers.
