North Dakota Colleges Struggle With PeopleSoft

It’s been an inauspicious start to the year for IT officials at North Dakota’s public colleges: The institutions’ course-registration software has already frozen up, leaving students frustrated.

The software—created by PeopleSoft—has kicked a number of students off when they have tried to rearrange their course loads, says Robert Haskins, president of the North Dakota Student Association. And even though the computer system now seems to be running more smoothly, students are complaining that they’re not getting much out of their $81 annual technology fee, according to the Associated Press. —Brock Read
