No Net Neutrality

The House passed a telecommunications bill, HR 5252, late Thursday evening but defeated a network-neutrality amendment supported by higher-education groups. The amendment, which would prevent cable and telephone companies from creating a tiered Internet with fast-lane service for preferred Internet sites, failed on a vote of 269-152.
