New Ruling in Patent Dispute
Reversing a preliminary ruling, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has affirmed a lucrative patent on Web-browser technology held by the University of California. The university and Microsoft have been battling for more than two years over who owns the patent. (The Chronicle, subscription required)
