Motion-Picture Association Warns Princeton

Are movie studios about to step up their campaign of lawsuits against campus file swappers? Some campus officials, including administrators at Princeton University, are worried about that possibility.

Daniel R. Glickman, president of the Motion Picture Association of America, recently sent Princeton’s president a message expressing concern about illegal downloading of movies—and a list of addresses for 66 campus computers that allegedly contain pirated films. Campus officials are wondering whether the note was a veiled cease-and-desist notice or a warning that lawsuits are on their way. (Daily Princetonian)
