Financial Crisis Crimps University Hiring
Cornell University is the latest institution in New York to suspend hiring, Bloomberg.com reports.
Despite the hiring freeze on state agencies announced by New York Gov. David A. Paterson back in July, some universities in N.Y. are filling positions, The Buffalo News reports.
Unfortunately, the hiring freeze at the State University of New York at Buffalo that was declared in August will be extended, Business First of Buffalo reports.
Meanwhile, The San Jose Mercury News reports that Stanford University may cut some jobs and limit raises, while Florida State University’s president has issued a new hiring freeze, according to a local Florida television station.
