Darfur Game Highlighted at Games Conference

Darfur Is Dying, an online role-playing game, was among the games featured this week at the fourth annual Games for Change conference at the New School in New York City. The Darfur game, which was developed by five students at the University of Southern California, tries to show what it's like to be a Darfurian refugee struggling to survive while escaping Janjaweed militias. MTV's college network, mtvU, announced Monday that the game is being translated into Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish. The conference, which ends today, highlights new games that advocate political or social reform in areas such as the Middle East, poverty, and global warming. --Andrea L. Foster
