Chicago State U. Told That Troubles Imperil Its Accreditation

Chicago State University, riven by disputes and distrust between the faculty and the administration and trustees, now faces a threat to its accreditation. According to a letter obtained by the Chicago Tribune, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools' Higher Learning Commission warned the university this past summer that its "remarkably poor" retention and graduation rates, leadership turnover, and jumbled finances put its accreditation at risk.
