Brighter Picture on Surveillance Costs
Colleges that had feared having to spend millions of dollars each to comply with a law on enabling the government to monitor online communications are taking heart from a court brief filed this week. The brief, from the Federal Communications Commission, suggests that major computer-network modifications will not be required. (The Chronicle, subscription required)
