Beyond the Help Desk
A computer-science major at Princeton University uses the campus newspaper to make a desperate plea: Don't mistake me for a walking help desk! Although computer science has ventured into theoretical and multidisciplinary territory, outsiders still can't forget the field's vocational roots, writes Avi Flamholz.
So when Mr. Flamholz lets slip that he's studying computers, he braces for a familiar response: "Oh my God! You can fix my e-mail!" (The Daily Princetonian)
