Art in Architecture to Complement an Art Collection

Kyu Sung Woo Architects, of Cambridge, Mass., has designed a new art museum for Johnson County Community College, in Kansas. The contemporary structure, clad in limestone, will open in late October.
The building features 11,000 square feet of exhibition space, 5,400 square feet of academic space, an auditorium, a cafe, and nearly 4,000 square feet for art storage. It is meant to complement the community college’s extensive art holdings; the college has earned accolades for its public-art collection.
