Afghan Student Who Was Imprisoned for Blasphemy Is Freed
An Afghan journalism student who was convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to 20 years in prison has been pardoned and released, the media-rights group Reporters Without Borders reports. A provincial court had originally sentenced the student, Sayad Parwez Kambakhsh, to death, but an appeals court changed the sentence to prison instead.
