A Green Ballpark at Penn State

We reported not long ago that the University of Connecticut had built the first athletics facility certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. We are not saying that they were not the first, but we would be remiss if we didn’t point out this story: Medlar Field, the ballpark on the University Park campus of Pennsylvania State University, has gone green. It has earned a basic certification in the LEED program for installing mass-transit options, bike parking, showers for commuters, waterless urinals, and the use of recycled and local materials.
