The Worst Days of Their Lives
Harvard sucks, especially for a student who is ashamed of wanting to become a professional cat breeder.
New Web sites, inspired by the infamous misery-aggregator FMyLife.com, are chronicling the woes of those lucky enough to attend some of the most selective universities in the country: Harvard, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Dartmouth, the University of California at Berkeley, and UCLA.
According to the anonymous posters, life in the collegiate cocoon is lonely, stressful, and full of sexual frustration.
On Harvardfml.com, started recently by a campus magazine that focuses on student life, students flaunt their unhappiness. Confessions of forlorn solitude abound: "I'm so lonely on a Sunday night that g-chatting my mom is the highlight of my evening. FML." And how to console the sad kitty-lover? Driving Mr. Lazy
A Georgetown student with a part-time job in finance is willing to pay about $60 a week for a personal assistant to do his laundry, make his bed, schedule his haircuts and taxi him around town, Georgetown University's Vox Populi blog reports.
The student posted an advertisement on Georgetown's Student Employment Office Web site, sparing little detail about his expectations: "As my PA you will receive an email once a day by 9 a.m. with a task list for that day and a time estimate for each task. Important tasks will be bolded on the list and must be done that day (even though everything on the list should theoretically be finished on a daily basis). At the end of the day you will send me an email telling me what tasks are incomplete or that all tasks have been completed."
