College Is ... Whatever Google Suggests
At Slate, Michael Agger has a column today about using the Google search box suggestions to perform some "armchair sociolinguistic analysis." Take a look at the differences between various queries (e.g., "how 2" vs. "how might one"). As Agger says, figuring out what the rest of the Internet is doing by looking into that little box is remarkably fun. Here are a couple from the higher-education world:
