"Is Google Making Us Stupid?" That was the attention-grabbing headline of Nicholas Carr's recent article in The Atlantic, exploring whether the Internet has remapped the neural circuitry in our brains. Carr, author of The Big Switch: Rewiring the World, From Edison to Google (W.W. Norton, 2008), begins with a confession: "I'm not thinking the way I used to think. … Immersing myself in a book or a lengthy article used to be easy." Says Carr: "Now my concentration often starts to drift
